PC: from old computer to new computer
We help move what matters to a new computer: your files, documents, photos, browser data, email setup, and the basics you need to keep working. If you prefer a clean start, we can migrate data without cloning an old installation.
Typical scope
- Copy your personal files and confirm a sensible folder structure
- Set up user accounts and basic privacy settings
- Browser migration (bookmarks, passwords if you choose, extensions where possible)
- Email client setup or webmail configuration
- Printers and common peripherals (where supported by the device)
What to prepare
- Have passwords or access to your email account available
- Bring old and new device, plus chargers and any USB drives you use
- If BitLocker or device encryption is enabled, have the recovery key available
- If you want software re-installed, list the applications you actually use
Android: from old phone to new phone
We help move your data and accounts to a new Android phone and verify the basics. The exact result depends on what Google, your apps, and your device models support.
Typical scope
- Google account and device setup
- Transfer of contacts, photos, and calendar where supported
- Setup of common apps and key settings
- Secure lock screen and device security basics
- Basic checks for calling, mobile data, and Wi‑Fi
What to prepare
- Have access to your Google account and any 2FA method
- Bring both phones, chargers, and your SIM or eSIM details
- Make sure the old phone is charged and unlocked
- If you use banking or authenticator apps, expect extra time for re-activation

Important notes
- Some programs and apps cannot be migrated automatically and must be re-activated
- End-to-end encrypted messages may not transfer depending on the app and settings
- Not all personalisations, settings, messages
Not included by default
- Breaking account locks or bypassing security
- Recovering data from a failing drive without prior diagnosis
- Guaranteed recovery of missing or deleted files
- Unsupported legacy hardware or drivers
Privacy and data handling
When a device or storage medium is handed over, the customer grants Nivid explicit access to the full system, the underlying folder structure, and all stored data. This access is necessary for the correct performance of the agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and is subject to the professional diligence expected from an IT professional.
Nivid limits the viewing of personal files to the strictly necessary functional minimum. Nivid processes this data in accordance with the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We act as a professional party of trust; outside the technical purposes below, no substantive review of file contents takes place, and data is not retained after the transfer has been completed and confirmed.
If temporary backups are created during the service, Nivid retains them for up to 30 days and then wipes them. This is intended to allow, as far as technically possible, a rollback to an earlier stage or to provide the customer with an original copy of the data as it existed before manipulation, migration, conversion, or other technical operations.
Purposes of access
- Continuity and safety: creating temporary backups to prevent data loss during technical operations.
- System operations: performing partial or full migrations, disk partitioning, disk imaging, and data recovery.
- Integrity checks: limited spot checks of files (for example opening a selected number of documents or photos) to confirm that data remains readable, intact, and not corrupted after transfer.
